HowTo - Run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool

 

The DirectX Diagnostic Tool is a utility provided in all versions of Windows that is useful for gaining specific (OS, DirectX, processor, video adapter, audio adapter, and driver version) information on your system's hardware configuration. We ask that you provide us with the results of this check so that we are able to provide specific suggestions in order to help resolve your issue.

How to run the tool in Windows Vista and Windows 7:

  1. Open DirectX Diagnostic Tool by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, typing dxdiag in the search box, and then pressing Enter.

  2. If your computer has a 64-bit version of Windows, click the button Run 64-bit DxDiag (see the below screenshot).

  3. If your computer has a 32-bit version of Windows, that button is not available.

  4. The tool will gather information, the progress will be shown by a green progress bar.

  5. Once the progress bar disappeared. Please click on Save All Information...

  6. The tool will prompt you to save a text file named DxDiag.txtSave this text file to your Desktop if possible.

  7. This file can be attached when you create your support ticket.

  1. Hold down the Windows key (located to the left and right of your "alt" keys) and press R on your keyboard. This should open up a run prompt for you.
